Kyle Busch’s website confirms his future in the Xfinity Series

Joe Gibbs Racing fans were hopeful about NASCAR legend Kyle Busch racing for them in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2022 in the 5 races that a NASCAR cup series driver allowed to race even though he confirmed 2021 will be his last, in a rather cheeky way, after his 102 Xfinity series win saying “It never say never, but yeah, this is it.”
Now with a few days left before the start of the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series season just days, the Kyle Busch website has confirmed that he won’t be part of the 2022 series as the Xfinity Series tab was removed from the website. Kyle Busch, the 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Series champion and the 2015 and 2019 Cup Series champion, won all of his 5 races in 2021 securing 102 points.
Following the retirement confirmation, Xfinity released a two-part video on YouTube where Kyle Busch talked about his career while it showed many of his numerous Xfinity highlights, and concluded with several of his crew chiefs recalling their favorite moments working with him.
The NASCAR drivers’ council is back

NASCAR drivers’ council is back after it fell apart at the end of the 2018 season after its formation in 2014. On Friday Drivers Advisory Council announced its formation and it will be made up of current and former drivers and seven drivers will serve as Board of Directors. Kurt Busch, Austin Dillon, Denny Hamlin, Corey LaJoie, Joey Logano, Kyle Petty, and Daniel Suarez will be will serve as Board of Directors for 2022.
The press release from the council outlined its aims which are improving areas of safety in Motorsports, growing and enhancing the sport, and providing drivers the maximum opportunities to succeed.
The press release read “Drivers Advisory Council is an independent group of eligible members that, through its passion for competition and sustainability of racing, is committed to further improving the areas of safety in motorsports, growing and enhancing the sport, and maximizing the opportunities for drivers to achieve success both on and off the track,”
