Joe Gibbs Racing driver Christopher Bell is coming into Sunday’s USA Today 301 with the hope of having solid race and continuing his impressive run in the 2024 season. But a mistake during the press-conference saw him revealing that JGR has signed Chase Briscoe to replace Marttin Truex Jr. in the 2025 season.
The incident was a big upset for JGR as it cost the chance to make the official announcement a huge thing. 2021 Cup champion Kyle Larson while sharing his view on the incident, made the assertion that he now believes Christopher Bell can be trusted to keep secret to himself as he will now be more aware in the future.
Kyle Larson said he couldn't type fast enough the tweet about Chase Elliott going to Joe Gibbs Racing as a joke after Christopher Bell accidentally let it slip that "Chase" (meaning Chase Briscoe) is joining JGR next year. pic.twitter.com/oWoC5DnNKN

I’m sure he’ll be on much higher awareness now. So yeah, I think you could probably trust him going forward.Kyle Larson said at NHMS.
The Hendrick Motorsports driver was first one jokes about the mis-hap on social media. He hilariously made good use Bell just saying the name Chase and wrote a goodbye message to his teammate Chase Elliott on potentially joining JGR.
Kyle Larson asserts JGR can use of this slip up
The HMS driver highlighted that the slip up from Bell has ruined all the plans JGR’s PR team have had for the Briscoe announcement. But the champion driver feels JGR can make use of this slip up and make better results out of it.

I mean that’s the greatest way to announce somebody coming to a team, I think. I’m sure PR departments are planning this extravagant, you know, very professional thing, but they got way more clicks for that then once they finally do announce it.Kyle Larson said.
The HMS driver does have a point as opportunity proves the Toyota teams’ PR team an opportunity showcases theatre talent and prove their worth by overcoming the adverse situation. It would be interesting how they would make it happen.
