The 2024 NASCAR playoff season will kick off with the Round-16 race at their biggest star’s home town. The Atlanta Motor Speedway, situated in Chase Elliott home Georgia, will host the event and the plate race is expected to bring craziness unlike another event this season, and it might also ruin a prominent drivers championship chase.

Chase Elliott’s Hendrick Motorsports teammate Kyle Larson has shared his verdict on the Atlanta race being the round opener. He admitted that he doesn’t like the fact the Superspeedway race is the opening event as it brings more chaos but at the same time, he is happy about it as well because it isn’t not in the second or third round of the post-season.

Yeah, I don’t love seeing Atlanta in the playoffs at all…would rather them be in the first round than the second or third round.

He admitted that that the No:5 has to be cleaner in racing in the first round of playoffs. Though Kyle Larson has enough bonus points on his bag, it won’t be easy task to just relay on them to survive the carnage of the post-season in the first-round that feature three wildcard races.

So yeah, I mean I think having the bonus points and playoff points that we’ve earned throughout the regular season is nice. But it still doesn’t guarantee anything. You still have to not run into any trouble, especially in back-to-back weeks, and hopefully you can just make it through.

Kyle Larson explains his expectations for Watkins Glen

Glen has been a track that has always been productive for Kyle Larson. So, he is expecting good results for the No:5 team. But it will not be an easy task for the team with the tier fall of increasing dominating the races as he used to be won’t be possible as there are too much unknowns to factor in.

You could totally blow a corner and fall back into the 20’s or worse and never recover from it. But yeah, we have been good there. From what I’ve heard, going back, I think our tires are going to be way softer, so the falloff is supposed to be a lot more. So I don’t think you can totally rely on results from the past either. I don’t know ... we might not be as dominate as we’ve been there either. Yeah, it’s just a little bit of unknowns going into Watkins Glen.
Kyle Larson said.

The Atalanta race will most probably be one of surviving the chaos for Kyle Larson. So, he will be going all out for the wins in Bristol and Glen. It will be interesting to see how the No:5 team would approach the races.
