The NASCAR Cup Series race Iowa Speedway this Sunday, the Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol, was a wild event that witnessed multiple incidents that brought up cautions, helping William Byron to win. But one of the many racers that was hurt due to the chaos was his teammate Kyle Larson, who ended up finishing P28, frustrated at everyone.

In the final stage, when Kyle Larson was racing inside the top 10, he found himself in a tough situation. He was making contacts with drivers left and right in every new restart, dragging him down to P12. It wasn’t just the rival drivers that was racing the 2021 Cup champion aggressively, even his teammate Chase Elliott was involved in chaotic moments.

This sent the veteran racer into a fury, and he shared his frustration with radio rant. He used F-bombs to slam the drivers for not giving him enough space. Larson then took a shot at the No:9 Chevy driver Elliott for not being a good teammate to him and the rest of grid for not being good competitors by reciprocating respectful racing during duels.

How much f****** room do I have to leave people? …. I’ve been trying to be a good teammate, a good competitor and it hasn’t gotten me anywhere for the last hour.

Kyle Larson said on Team radio.

It was a valid meltdown from Kyle Larson, as he is someone that remains true to himself, when he decides to race less hard. But at the same time, everyone, even Chase Elliott was racing to maximize their points with regular season championships coming to an end in three races. So, the chaotic finale stage demanded some aggression from these drivers and Larson ended up being the innocent bystander.

Yeah, it’s been great to see Hendrick Motorsports is atop the standings right now with just a few races left until the end of the regular season. So, yeah, that’s something to be proud of. But there’s still a lot of racing left and the playoffs can get crazy.

Kyle Larson said.

In the same conversation the veteran racer shared his thoughts on his No:5 Chevy team. He asserted that they are not really strong at the moment compared to the start of 2025 and needs to work on the race craft as well as strategy to get back to performing on a high level. For that he needs to use the redemption runs he produced the two race days before Iowa.

But yeah, I feel like our team was really, really strong to start the year. We kind of had those, you know, five or six weeks where we had fallen off a little bit, but these last two have gone well.

Kyle Larson asserted.

Though Kyle Larson failed to maximize his outcome thus week at Iowa, his car had some pace that helped him to remain competitive for some time in the race. The team should use this factor too their advantage going into the next Cup event at Iowa Speedway. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for him.
