The 2025 NASCAR Cup season will witness Kyle Larson yet again making his double duty attempt, with a second Indy 500 attempt with McLaren. He will miss the Coca Cola 600 practice and qualifying due to his appearance in the Brickyard event. This leaves an opportunity for another racer the chance to drive No:5 Hendrick motorsports Chevy at Charlotte.
The 2021 Cup champion recently sat down with Bob Pockarss, ahead of The Clash at Bowman Gray and shared his feelings about who should drive in the two-session replacing him. Kyle Larson wants ex-JGR racer Carl Edwards to make a comeback and drive the car like 2014 Cup champion Kevin Harvick did last season.
He further pointed out that if HMS is able to convince Edwards to partake in the sessions, it would be a huge splash for the sports. Larson then shared a message to Edwards, inviting him and saying Rick Hendrick’s team want him there.
Kevin Harvick predicts Kyle Larson-Christopher Bell rivalry to spill over to NASCAR
In the recent episode of the Happy Hour Podcast, Kevin Harvick predicted that Kyle Larson is going to have a spicy rivalry with Christopher Bell in 2025. He expects the duels they had at Chilly Bowl will going to change the season for her as it is set to spill over to the races on the NASCAR Cup Series track.
The comments from Kevin Harvick are something many in the community is going to agree with and it is something many fans would expect to see, considering Bell and Larson has been among the most consistent racers in the Next-Gen era. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout.
