The NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway witnessed Kyle Larson producing a solid race, leading 415 laps of the 500-lap race, to secure his second win of the 2025 season. It was one of the dominant wins of any driver this season and defeating Denny Hamlin to win makes it a special victory for him.
Denny Hamlin was on his way to secure a three-peat, after winning Martinsville and Darlington. But Kyle Larson had the better car and executed to perfection, just like he did in Saturday’s Xfinity race. In his post-race interview, the HMS veteran took a cheeky dig at Hamlin, like the JGR racer did the previous week, while also highlighting the No:11 Toyota racers’ skill.
You know, if Denny’s in front of me, it could be a totally different story and be really hard to pass him. Glad to stop his three-peat; we hate to see him win. As I’m sure you guys do too.
Kyle Larson said after Bristol win.
Talking about his race in the same interview, Larson admitted that it was flowless race from the No:5 team on Sunday and he had a lot of fun racing under the green flag for a long-time. A similar effort last year helped the team to secure the night race win at Bristol and with the momentum on their side will be looking forward to doing the same in the next-race at the track.
Just a flawless race once again here at Bristol for the 5 team. Really, really good car. That was a lot of fun, you know? However many laps of green we ran there was a lot of fun and I was pretty comfortable with things.
Kyle Larson added.
He admitted that after the pit-cycle Denny Hamlin was able to disturb his comfortable green flag run and keep him under pressure. But with some good moves in the traffic, he was able to do enough to keep the JGR Camry behind him and secure the win.
Then, Denny came on really strong there before the pit cycle. Then it just kind of kept the pressure on from there. So, I knew I had to make some good moves in traffic.
Kyle Larson asserted.
Kyle Larson why he loves Bristol after the impressive win
Following the win Kyle Larson shared his thoughts on how he loves the racetrack and how his outing there has always been fun. He loves the high-paced dynamic and the dicing through the traffic at Bristol, as he gets a feeling of driving a sprint car.

It’s fun. I love this place because it is just so high-paced and with traffic; just dicing it up and picking the right lines at the right time while conserving your tires. It’s like a 500-lap sprint car race.
Kyle Larson said.
He believes the track and the event suits his racing style that align with quick decision making, hence he loves the venue. Larson asserter that it was an another great race at Bristol and believes his rival also shares the same feelings.
It just suits me and my style with quick decision-making. I just love this place. I think a lot of us do here in this series. Just had another good race.
Kyle Larson added.
The comments from the Chevy veteran shows he came into the race with high hopes and determination to win the event. The track suiting his racing style, helped him dominate Denny Hamlin and co to secure the race win.
