The NASCAR Cup Series race at Nashville was a dramatic to say the least as the end of the race saw a record five overtime attempts. Two times champion Joey Logano redeemed himself from the poor streak he is in and secure the race win to mark his place in the 2024 playoff. At the same time defending race winner Ross Chastain had a heartbreak.

The No:1 Trackhosue Racing Chevy driver found himself in the mix for the win in the overtime, as he was fighting alongside Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson. But it wasn’t meant to be as on the restart, as Ross Chastain made his way up on the outside lane Larson who was pushing Hamlin to the front made contact with him.

His car lost control and wrecked hard into the outside wall. He went on to collect multiple cars as the reminder of the field caught up with him. Fortunately, he didn’t suffer any injuries because of the crash. The No:5 HMS Chevy ended up in P8, while the No:1 Chevy was awarded a P33 finish after the DNF over the wreck.

He then went on to talk about the fight he had with Denny Hamlin and asserted that the move at the was just racing for the win. Larson was attempting to get upfront and avoid the issue with dirty air, but the move only ended up worse.

Just trying to race for the win. Was hoping to kind of get him out of shape and get me some clean air to the bottom. …Ended up getting myself tight and into Ross. Like I said I hate that for Ross. Just doing what I thought I needed to do to try to get myself a decent opportunity to get some clean air and get myself a shot to win.
Kyle Larson said.

While both Larson and Hamlin are already secured spot in the playoff with three wins each, Chastain is riding on points to the last-16. He hasn’t secured a race win yet this season and Nashville was another missed opportunity. It would be interesting to see how the reminder of the 2024 season would playout for him.
