Joey Logano yet again proved why he is considered as one of the best racers of his generation, as he won the 2024 Cup championship, peaking at the right moment in the post-season. From almost getting eliminated in the R-12 to getting into the championship-4 with the win at Las Vegas, Logano had a dramatic path to success in the post-season.
But not everyone was happy with the fact that Joey Logano won the title, as him having worst statics of any previous champion and him being less inconsistent caused the drama. There is a significant group in the racing community who are overlooking the Ford drivers’ title win and blaming the playoff format for the “supposedly unfair” championship win.
Now ex-NASCAR Cup racer Kyle Petty has come to Joey Logano’s defense. He pointed out that the fans are finding issues with format to discredit the Team Penske drivers’ championship win, and he reminded that the veteran is already moving on as a champion. He also asserted that the Ford racer doesn’t care about the criticism and uncalled for hate.
Joey Logano explains how tough retirement from racing is
While recently speaking about his retirement and life after that, Logano pointed out that post-retirement is pretty lonely. He pointed out that the derivers really need the closeness of family as within a handful of years they are going to forget everything about racing and things will become hard from there.
The comments from Joey Logano are on point and it’s something almost every veteran racer of the sport faces. It seems the No:22 Ford drivers is getting ready for life after retirement, as one of the all-time best of the sport.
