Martin Truex Jr. breaks silence on retirement rumors as there is “never enough” time to made the decisive call

Since the start of the Next-Gen, NASCAR fans has been looking forward when will Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Martin Truex Jr. would make the final call on his retirement. He has been teasing it since 2022, only to sign back-to-back one year contract extensions. Latest rumors suggests that there won’t be an extension this season.
Many personalities in the NASCAR community have been suggesting the driver the time has come for the veteran to make the final call. 2014 Cup champion Kevin Harvick pointed out that Martin Truex Jr. has to make a decision quick for the sake of JGR, as they have a lot to plan if the veteran choose to retire. The No:18 Toyota driver has now addressed the rumors speaking to Claire B Lang.

He pointed out that he still doesn’t know what he would be doing and admitted that it’s never enough time in the sport to plan for the next-season. He understands that he will influence the plans of a lot of people, hence will make a decision soon as he doesn’t want to mess up plans of everyone associated with his team.
I don’t know yet. We’ll see. It’s never enough time in this sport because you need to start planning for next year like now. It’s a tough situation to be in where I’m at right now, trying to figure out six, or eight months ahead of time. But it is what it is. There’s a lot of people that have to make plans and you don’t want to mess them up. You gotta be looking out for everybody else in these situations.Martin Truex Jr. told Claire B Lang.
Martin Truex Jr. highlights how big his win was last year at New Hampshire
For this first time in his Cup career, Martin Truex Jr. will get to New Hampshire, his home track, as the defending race winner this season. He highlighted that the win at Louden last year was one of the biggest wins of his career.
It was huge, honestly, I mean, it's no question one of my biggest wins of my career just because of what it meant to me personally, my family, just that area. Again, I've been going there for so long, and won at K&N East Series back then, won my first North Series race there, won in the Busch Series, and it's like, 'Okay, now I'm gonna go win a Cup race, and gosh, it took forever.’Martin Truex Jr. said.
The veteran would be hoping to secure another win at the track this season, but right now his focus in on the upcoming race at Toyota Save Mart 350 race this week at Sonoma Raceway. It would be interesting to see how long it would take Truex Jr. to make the final call on his retirement.
