Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell is the best young driver in the current grind alongside Hendrick Motorsports’ William Byron. The racing community firmly believes that the duo will end their respective careers with at least one race win to their name. Fox Sports senior NASCAR broadcaster Mike Joy has analyzed Bell’s chances recently and asserted he will be a champion soon.

The comments from the NASCAR insider came in the recent episode of the Fox Sports Happy Hour Podcast, hosted by 2014 Cup champion Kevin Harvick. He without a doubt declared that Christopher Bell will be a champion and revealed his frustration about the No:20 team missing out on the championship-4 last season owing alleged race manipulation from Chevy.

He will be a champion of this sport. I have no doubt. I really wished he had the chance to run for it last year. You know, Martinsville got in the way, and so did a couple of blocking Chevrolets. You know, all right, we know what happened then.

Mike Joy said via Happy Hour podcast.

Further talking about the topic, Mike Joy highlighted how Bell showed his class amidst the controversy and was fair with his criticism against NASCAR. This helped Bell to elevate his status in the community and earned him enough respect, which proves he is finally ready to become a stock car racing champion.

But you know, the way he handled that, and the way he made his point about whether things were fair or not, without taking on NASCAR, I think really elevated his status in the garage and in the sport. I think now he’s someone that NASCAR respects and listens to. I think they’re ready for him to be a champion. And he is.

Mike Joy added.

Kevin Harvick gives his verdict on Christopher Bell’s championship hopes

In the same conversation, Kevin Harvick also gave his verdict on Christopher Bell’s chances of winning a title. The arguments the ex-SHR driver has to support his point is that the No:20 Toyota driver has matured as a person and he is developing into one of the leaders of the sport.

There have been discussions about the lack of superstars and personalities in the sport. Harvick highlighted that Bell is one of the drivers that can change this perception, as there are a lot of youngsters like him that deserves more credit that they deserve.

I think he is too. When you look at the maturity of Christopher as a person, and he’s developing into being a leader… Really, when you look at our Cup Series driver lineup right now, it’s pretty young. I believe the potential of these guys is a lot bigger than most people give credit.

Kevin Harvick said.

The comments from Joy and Harvick about Bell are something almost everyone in the racing community will agree with, as they really have strong car and driver for the foreseeable future. It would be interesting to see how long it’s going to take Bell to win his maiden championship.
