16-year-old Sean Hingorani is all set to add his name to the list of Indian-origin drivers to have raced in the NASCAR truck series, with only one other name present, Narain Karthikeyan. The ARCA racer will debut at the Milwaukee Mile on the 27th of August.
Hingorani will drive the #61 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for Hattori Racing Enterprises. He will run as a teammate to Tyler Ankrum, who has failed to qualify for the playoffs. Hingorani currently races in the ARCA Menards series for Venturini Motorsports, where he has three wins, ten top-five, and 12 top-ten finishes.
Hattori Racing Enterprises owner Shigeaki Hattori also expressed happiness with Hingorani’s debut. He said that Hingorani had shown a lot of potential in a very short time and believed that he would be very successful with the Mooresville-based team.
“Sean has shown a lot of potential in his short career and we’re happy to have a driver of his calibre join HRE. He has won in many different types of race cars, which will prove to be beneficial. I think he has the ability to be successful with our team,” Hattori said as reported by TheCheckeredFlag.
“I’m looking forward to joining Hattori Racing Enterprises. The HRE team puts a quality truck on track and are really looking to get both trucks in the mix at the front. I’m looking forward to getting a full practice session under my belt ahead of my debut. It is great to have Fidelity Capital on board with us for the weekend and look to having a great debut race in the Craftsman Truck Series,” Hingorani said about his debut.

The 2023 season does not prove to be a cakewalk for Sean Hingorani
Sean Hingorani is all set to debut in the NASCAR Truck Series. but though the youngster’s performances have impressed those at HRE, he has a reputation for failing to keep his cool on several occasions, like the one in Ohio on the seventh of July.
Hingorani was suspended for one race after he intentionally ran his Venturi teammate Dean Thompson off the track. This move came as a retaliation to an earlier incident where both the drivers came in contact while trying to take the lead. Hingorani’s intention was very clear as well due to his actions.
The 16-year-old slowed down a full lap to find Thompson, when he ran Thompson into a sand trap. This incident also lead to Hingorani getting forced to retire himself as he spun out of control. However, the suspension didn’t affect Hingorani a lot as he was a part-timer and was not planning to participate in the next race in Iowa anyway.
