Kenny Wallace, who comes from the long line of NASCAR royalty, is one of the most renowned drivers of the modern era. The semi-retired veteran has announced they will race in the 2023 Camping World SRX Series season finale at the Lucas Oil Speedway. He will hit the Wheatland, Missouri, track on the 17th of August.
Wallace has already spent 25 long years in NASCAR. He ran 547 races over the years in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, in which he has nine wins and 173 top-ten finishes. He has also participated in the Cup Series (344 races) and Camping World Truck Series (13 races). He is the younger brother of Rusty Wallace and Mike Wallace, a NASCAR Winston Cup Series champion.
Though Wallace retired from NASCAR in 2015, he continued to participate in the local dirt track races across the country. He was also a reporter for Fox Sports covering NASCAR. Don Hawk, the SRX CEO, stated that he had known Wallace for a really long time. He said, “I like how he drives, how he rolls and the passion he brings regarding all forms of motorsports but particularly in this case as he’s been a huge fan of SRX since day one.”

Kenny Wallace has always been a fan of SRX from day one
In a statement from SRX, Kenny Wallace expressed his excitement to compete in the series finale.“I’ve always been a big fan of the SRX series because it’s good for racing in every way, and now that it’s on Thursday nights, it’s even better, I am truly honoured and humbled at the same time to race with these world-class drivers. When you see me at an SRX event, I will be smiling from ear to ear and giving it everything I got on and off the race track.”
Though there are several months to go for the SRX third season, the driver announcements have already begun. Along with Kenny Wallace, other big names will participate in the series. Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Clint Bowyer, and Kyle Busch will make their SRX debut. They will run part-time. The other drivers, like Hailie Deegan, Brad Keselowski, Bobby Labonte, and Ryan Newman, will run full-time in the SRX 2023.
The Lucas Oil Speedway and Eldora Speedway are the two dirt tracks on the calendar. The season will begin on the 13th of July and go on for six weeks. It has been moved from Saturday nights to Thursday nights. Though Wallace has cut back on racing, he wants to appear now and then.
