The number of years in contract extension is yet to be announced by both the team and the driver.

The contract extension might be the thing Blaney needs to secure a win this season as though he had six career cup win for Penske, but none of that is from this season. The No:2 positioned driver in the championship[ table is P16 in the playoff entry list just because he is winless and gets paid more in cup series than consistency. Blaney’s postseason chances heavily depend on him getting a win or the absence of a new race winner in the coming two race days.
