Ryan Newman earned his first SRX win at Stafford after pulling off a NASCAR move on then-leader Marco Andretti with six laps to go after starting 9th in the 12-car race, the SRX Series was started by NASCAR Hall of Famer Tony Stewart who also won the 2021 Superstar Racing Experience Championship and also currently co-owns a NASCAR Cup Series team Stewart-Haas Racing who have been pretty impressive this season.

Ryan Newman took the lead and left Andretti to finish second followed by Paul Tracy at third, this race was followed after the most controversial SRX races in two seasons at South Boston Speedway, the race prior to this one at Stafford Motor Speedway, where the Series’ co-founder Tony Stewart won the race but made the headlines for what he did after the race and that was a heated confrontation between him and Ernie Francis Jr. for a move he did that pissed off Stewart and this wasn’t the only incident that day.

Ryan Newman was extremely overjoyed after winning the SRX race at Stafford Motor Speedway he said that it was a really special experience for him and also dedicated his win to the late Bruton Smith and his family and also Bryan Clauson and his family and he was on cloud 9 after beating legends like Marco Andretti, Paul Tracy, and Tony Stewart and he feels really grateful and honored to have beat them and win the race.

“A really special night to win here tonight at Stafford. Amazing night for me in the SRX Series, for Bruton Smith and his family, this is special. For Bryan Clauson and his family, we got to park it in Victory Lane. To beat the best between Marco Andretti and Paul Tracy, Tony Stewart, and all the guys that are a part of this deal. It’s so special to be a part of and then to beat them. I’m so honored to be a part of it and look forward to three more,” said Ryan Newman.

Marco Andretti who finished second and lost to Ryan Newman also shared a few words saying that Newman pulled off a move that many racers are trying and risking it all to acquire the lead and also added that he did it at the perfect time which allowed him to keep his lead and head into the Victory Lane and Andretti was clueless as to how many laps were left making it even easier for Ryan and he concluded by saying that he outdid himself and is now aware that he can learn a lot from NASCAR drivers.

“Ryan did the bump, the same thing that everybody is going to try to do to win the race. He did it with the perfect amount of laps left, I was screaming on the radio because I was driving blind, I didn’t know how many laps were left to go, so I missed timed that. I Overdrove and wheel-hopped it at the end, but I’m learning so much from these Cup guys. They are just too good,” said Marco Andretti on Ryan Newman.
