Adam DeVine, the renewed Hollywood persona gave the iconic “drivers start your engines” command for the 2023 NASCAR Sonoma Cup race. The Comedy Central show producer is also an accomplished actor, singer, and screenwriter. He was one of the many celebrities that attended the second Road Course race of the NASCAR Cup series in 2023.
WWE superstar Braun Strowman was the honorary pace car driver for the event. “The Monster Among Men” was in the passenger seat after DeVine’s command and led the drivers to the starting line for the race. The most renowned celebrity on the day was none other than NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal; he was the DJ for the post-race party.
DeVine witnessed an impressive battle among three veterans of the sport on Sunday. The battle was among JGR’s Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr., and their former teammate Kyle Busch of RCR. Pole sitter Hamlin’s day they ended with a crash after an impressive start. The other two took advantage of the situation, and the No:19 driver, Truex Jr., went on to win the race while the No:8 of Busch finished second.

DeVine, who is known for his charm and charisma, tried something unique while giving the command. He tried a loose impersonation of John Mayer. While the command wasn’t top-notch compared to Mayer, it was a valiant effort that fans sure did enjoy; after all, the primary role of a comedian is to make people laugh.
While some fans liked and appreciated the actor’s efforts, not everyone was on board. Some were quick to mock the star for his delivery of the command. At the same time, there were also fans who were pleased with the move.
