The Monster Mile a.k.a Dover motor Speedway has a special place for one of the most dominant NASCAR team over the years, Hendrick Motorsport as they swept the Top 4 places of 2021 Monster Mile Cup Race, making them only the 3ed team to achieve those feet behind Roush Fenway Racing, who did it in 2005 Homestead-Miami Speedway and Peter DePaolo Racing who achieved the record twice once in 1956 at Titusville and the in 1957 at North Wilkesboro.

Alex Bowman finished the race at first ahead of Kyle Larosn, Chase Elliott and William Byron who finished behind him in the respective order. The HMS remained the dominant team throughout 2022 and has retained their dominance in 2022 even after the Next-Gen car’s introduction as they have secured 4 wins in after 10 rounds of racing so far with only Chase Elliott remaining to taste a win.

Now Alex Bowman who won his first race in the Next-Gen car at Las Vegas has come forth revealing his opinions on the track as he visits the Dover track as the defending champion.

Alex Bowman’s No:48 car

Alex bowman said that the No:48 is doing everything to keep the consistency through the summer and added that the team has to keep doing what they have been doing so far to secure a win. He went on to say that the old notes of their last years Dover race where the HMS cars swept the front won’t be of any use as the Next-Gen car and tracks are unpredictable this season.

“You always want more but we’re trying our best to keep that consistency through the summer. I think we’ve been doing a good job so far. Just need to keep digging,” Alex Bowman said.

“Your notebook is out the window. I wouldn’t have predicted that it did what it did in Martinsville. I think while it is hard to pass, we’ve run up front there from really deep in the field,” Alex Bowman added.

Kyle Larson, the reigning cup series champion who finished second behind Alex Bowman last year at Dover said that they will have the same dominance in racing similar to what they had in the past as he reiterated HMS 2021 front row sweep. He went on to say that he is uncertain about how the Next-Gen car will run on concrete and added that he hopes Multiple lanes are used in the track.

We had a great result last year in the Gen 6 car. Finishing one-two-three-four I know meant a lot to Rick (Hendrick, owner) and all the men and women at Hendrick Motorsports. I’ve run well at Dover throughout my career and have led a lot of laps there, and I hope that is the case again this weekend. I don’t know how this generation of car will race on the concrete; bud I hope we’ll be using multiple lanes on Sunday,Kyle Larson said.
