Stewart Haas Racing and Aric Almirola are going to a track that he believes he has a genuine shot at winning despite the poor start to his 2023 seasons. Ford team SHR hasn’t tasted a victory this season and has been winless since the penultimate regular season race from last year, which Kevin Harvick won.

Other than veteran Harvick, all three drivers of Tony Stewart’s team will not make it to the playoffs in terms of just points. They desperately need a win to secure the spot in the last 16. One of the drivers in the three that need a win is Almirola, who was winless last season and maybe having the worst season this time around.

Aric Almirola‘s result from Monday’s NHMS Cup race might make or break his season. The No:10 team had the track circled up as an event where they could score a win at the start of the season, and starting the race at P3 on Monday, he has the right opportunity at his hands to do so. To secure the win and get a significant share of the $7.5 million prize pool of the Cup weekend, he has to step up his game.

From where we started in practice to where we ended up in qualifying was a major step in the right direction…This is a track we have had circled all year, and we always know we have the opportunity to win. I’m glad we’ve given ourselves an opportunity to start third tomorrow. We just have to execute and be perfect all day,” Almirola told the media on Saturday.

Laudon is a track Almirola holds close to his heart for many reasons. One of them is that his third-ever Truck Series start came along the way, and he did exceptionally well in the race.  The No:10 Mustang driver’s last Cup race win came at the track in 2021 and helped to secure a spot in that season’s playoffs.

New Hampshire is a special place to me. It was one of my very first touring series starts in the Truck Series – I think my third start in a Truck, and I ran really well. From that point forward, I just really love going there. I love going up there for the people,” Almirola said ahead of the race weekend.

I think the race fans are some of the biggest race fans in our sport. It’s such a good vibe coming to the New England area in the summer, and it’s just a beautiful part of the country,” Almirola added.
