The NASCAR Xfinity Series race on Saturday at Watkins Glen International had its fair share of drama. After a late restart, the JR Motorsports driver Sam Mayer tagged Joe Gibbs Racing driver Ty Gibbs. It sent the latter spinning and ended his chance of securing his 13th win. However, Gibbs wasn’t the only one affected. Unfortunately, Austin Hill was caught up in their incident.

The race ended with Mayer driving his No.1 Chevrolet Camaro to the victory lane claiming his second win in the Xfinity Series. Austin Hill had a few words to say about Sam Mayer and the incident on the track. The No. 21 Chevrolet Camaro Richard Childress Racing driver did not hide his frustration with Mayer. And he certainly did not mince words.

Austin Hill told Dustin Albino he lost respect for Sam Mayer. He stated, “The No. 1 drives over his head all the time. I should’ve known. You have the No. 19 up there, then you have the No. 1. I’ve lost all respect for Sam Mayer. As far as I’m concerned, he can kiss my a**.” It is safe to say Hill was frustrated because the incident cost him good points as he finished 14th.

Hill expressed anger and said Sam Mayer did not try to race him and Gibbs. He also warned the JR Motorsports driver that he won’t be racing clean hereafter. However, Austin Hill was filled with emotions while giving the statement. It remains to be seen whether he will follow his words. After all, he was unfortunately caught up between Mayer and Gibbs.

Austin Hill said, “I’m just very mad right now. That he didn’t at least try to race us. He just took both of us out, knowing that we were the two to beat. Don’t have no respect for him. We’ll have to see what happens down the road, but I won’t be racing him clean from now on, I can tell you that.”

Hill was asked if something happened between him and Sam Mayer previously, but he clarified, saying that was not the reason. The 29-year-old claimed Mayer has a reputation for wrecking people and was waiting for it to happen to him. He warned Mayer that he wouldn’t take this behavior lightly. It remains to be seen how things will unfold in the Xfinity Series.
