Bubba Wallace, just as his teammate Kurt Busch in the spring race on the track, led the charts to win his second career Cup race and his first of the season at Kansas Speedway. Wallace’s victory was the second of his career. 23X1 Racing also achieved an incredible second victory this year one from each of their drivers.

In the second round of the playoff race, Bubba Wallace prevailed over other competitors, including his TRD teammates and boss Denny Hamlin. After taking over the lead from Alex Bowman, Wallace kept his employer at bay the entire way to the finish line, driving a personal best 58 laps to win the race.

As his previous victory came in the Talledega race that was postponed due to weather, this was Bubba Wallace‘s second victory in the Cup and his first in an ordinary race win.  Now following his statement win at Kansas, Bob Pockrass, one of the most respected journalists in NASCAR, has come forth proclaiming Wallace to be a contender for a playoff spot and beyond in the future.

Bob Pockrass acknowledged that the win has some historic contest as he is the first black driver in NASCAR history to win multiple cup races. He added that his critics can say very less about his win at Kansas as they used to do with their Talladega win which came after the rain delay and race suspension.

A historic victory as he became the first black driver in NASCAR cup series history to win multiple cup races and you can say what you want about Talladega you’d be wrong but you can say what you want about that being on a drafting track and a rain-shortened win and maybe it doesn’t mean as much but you can’t say anything to criticize his win today,” Bob Pockrass said.

Bob Pockrass went on to say that Bubba Wallace had the best car and did everything he needed to do for the win. He pointed out that Bubba Wallace after executing a flawless green flag pit stop was able to remain not panicked to secure further the win.

He had the best car and he did everything he needed to do to win. He executed a green flag pit stop flawlessly. He got down pit road better than other drivers he increased his lead thanks to what he was able to do getting on and off pit road. And he held the lead he didn’t panic,” Bob Pockrass added.

He added that Bubba Wallace was certainly down after losing out the Michigan cup race win to Kevin Harvick though a lot of individuals have lost to Harvick who is with no doubt a future Hall of Famer according to him.

You know this you can look back to Michigan a couple of months ago restarting on the front row and getting beaten by Kevin Harvick. You know a lot of people get beaten by Kevin Harvick he’s a hall of fame driver so there was nothing to be down about after that one but certainly, he was,” says Bob Pockrass.

Bob Pockrass went on to say that Bubba Wallace has showcased with his Kansas win that he will be competing for more wins in the cup series in the coming future and will definitely be a playoff contender in the coming seasons.

And here today he comes out and he wins this race at Kansas not only did he show that he can win races on the cup series level but I think today showed that he’ll win more races at the cup level and that he could be a contender when it comes to the playoffs in future seasons,” added Bob Pockrass.
