The Bristol dirt race has been one of the most debated Cup events in the NASCAR Cup series schedule since the maiden event three years ago. More often than not, the fans haven’t been impressed with the final race product in the temporary dirt track event. The success of the concrete pavement races at the same venue made demands for changes more solid.
Now, RFK Racing co-owner and 2012 NASCAR Cup Champion Brad Keselowski has come forward, claiming much uncertainty over what will happen to the track. Fairgrounds and North Wilkesboro are rumored alternatives if the sanctioning body decides to change the location. But Keselowski thinks that even if the track gets two races, he doesn’t see anyone complaining.
“Yeah, I think a lot of intrigue over what’s going to happen with Bristol with the spring and the fall race, things going on at the Fairgrounds, North Wilkesboro, but if we end up with two races on the concrete at Bristol, I don’t think you’ll hear many complaints,” explained Keselowski as reported by ProTalk.
Keseloski’s love for the track can also be motivated by the fact that he has won three races here in the past, and his first as team owner came in the track as well. He feels the track is iconic enough for two NASCAR Cup series race dates. Keselowski said, “I think Bristol is an iconic track, and one serving a year doesn’t feel like enough.”

Brad Keselowski doesn’t keep his Bristol race-win trophy in his home
When asked about where he held the sword, which he got as the team owner last year for Chris Buescher winning the Saturday night race, he said that he keeps it in his office. There are two main reasons for his decision.
One, since the trophy is an actual sword, it is always safe to keep it somewhere away from his kids to avoid any potential incidents. The second reason is his distaste for keeping trophies stacked on shelves at his home. He keeps all the trophies he has won over the years in his office.
Going into this weekend’s night race at the track, he hopes to end his winless streak of 92 races. He hasn’t won a single race this season or last year, while his teammates have won thrice. With his history at the track, it would be no surprise if the ex-champion contends for the win on Saturday.
