The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series regular-season finale at Daytona witnessed chaos and craziness all race. With seventeen drivers going all out for a win that could yield a spot in the playoffs, the wild scenes were expected. But no one expected 2012 Cup champion Brad Keselowski to just drive in circles after the “big one”
Following a multi-car crash caused by an incident between Ty Gibbs and Ryan Blaney. RFK Racing boss Keselowski was one of the 16 drivers involved in the mele. While the other drivers were either driving to the pit lane or getting towed to their pit box, the No:6 Ford Mustang was seen driving in circles on the backstretch.
It took everyone by surprise, and one was able to figure out the real reason behind why he decided to employ the move. It caused a stir in the NASCAR social media, and fans came up with multiple speculations, and now Keselowski has explained the reason. He said that he was just blowing off the smoke from the car.
“The smoke was billowing fast around my feet, knew I had to do something. The red in the ECU gets clearer with every second as the fire is going out and smoke dissipating… so I guess it’s not dumb if it works?!?!“ Keselowski wrote while replying to a fan on X via his official handle.

RFK Racing made an impressive comeback after the incident

While the incident, to an extent, reduced the former Penske Racing drivers’ shot at the first win of his new team, he was able to bounce back and secure a 1-2 win they have been dreading for a long time. His driver, Chris Buescher, secured his third win of the season while the co-owner secured P2.
Chris Buescher’s win was the fifth of his career and the third in the last five races of the season, making him the most successful Ford driver. It was also a testament to how much RFK has progressed since the champion driver joined the team. “Bad Brad” played a big role in the 1-2 as the No:17 car got a huge push in the final laps.
“I mean this one, this one belongs to Brad (Keselowski) just as much. Because that was a massive push from the boss man, teammate, and all the things. So just so proud of that and what we are able to accomplish here tonight,” Buescher said,
