Bubba Wallace has never shied away from criticizing himself or his team if the race day didn’t go as they liked. He is often hard on himself when it comes to criticism, and sometimes his team suffers the heat as well. In his interview ahead of the pt-crew challenge for the North Wilkesboro All-Star race, he said he is guilty of letting his emotion get the best of him and making regretful remarks.

Last year during the Nashville Cup race, Wallace had a heated exchange with his crew chief where he used expletive words. The driver’s race was ruined after his current teammate, who was driving for RCR in 2022, Tyler Reddick, slammed into his back after he slowed the car down. He was instructed to do so by the No:23 crew’s boss. ‘

Wallace admitted at NWBS that sometimes he went a little overboard with the comments on media, and he feels guilty for it. He said, “It’s nice to give those guys the spotlight, right. I think often, I’m guilty of it, throwing those guys under the bus after bad races,”.

It’s just cool, kind of bringing that Pit Stop Challenge back. Our pit crew this year has been solid. They’ve been really good. Kansas was really good for us. Rebounded last week from that first stop.  I’m excited. I was talking to those guys. I think we have a legit shot at laying down a good time. We just got to go and execute,” Wallace added.

Wallace’s mistake during the challenge cost the team a potential top spot in the timesheets. He stopped short in his pit box, and the team had to change the car, costing them valuable time. The No:23 team ironically scored P23 in the challenge. Ty Gibbs Joe Gibbs No:45 crew was the fastest among them.

The two times Cup race winner redeem himself with the career-best All-Star race run. If he had a car that has ab it more pace, Wallace could have matched the No:5 HMS Chevy of Kyle Larson. He started the race at p10 and climbed to the top like Larson. Both drivers were on the same strategy, and with their experience, the No:5 crew had the upper hand.
