NASCAR team Trackhouse Racing’s Project91 is a third entry for the team. Its mission is to bring international racing stars to the NASCAR world to try their hand at the sport. It has been a successful project as it boosts NASCAR’s publicity and welcomes motorsport drivers from other series. Recently, the 23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace’s spotter was asked if he has a Project91 wish. He wants the seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton to be the next Project91 driver.
The hot topic of late has been the three-time Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen‘s win on his NASCAR debut at the inaugural Chicago Street race. His win showed Project91’s potential and will likely lure other motorsport drivers. But the question is could it tempt Lewis Hamilton? Other F1 drivers, like the 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen have made their Cup debut with Project91. Now Bubba Wallace’s spotter Freddie Kraft, believes Hamilton should try NASCAR.
Freddie Kraft was on Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Dirty Mo Media podcast. He was asked who will he pick to race in the NASCAR Cup Series, and his answer was the Mercedes icon, Lewis Hamilton. Kraft stated, “I think the obvious answer is Lewis Hamilton. Like who would not want to see Lewis Hamilton in a NASCAR race ever? Who would ever not wanna see that? So that’s my pick.”
The NASCAR world is ready for Lewis Hamilton

Brett Griffin, fellow spotter, added, “I will do whatever it takes to get Lewis Hamilton to the sport if there is anything I can do. Unfortunately, I don’t think us chipping in or starting a Go Fund Me is going to matter.” It is safe to say that the NASCAR world is ready to welcome Hamilton with open arms. And, of course, it would be interesting to watch him race in the Next-Gen Cup Series car.
Lewis Hamilton watched the 2015 NASCAR season finale and revealed that he enjoyed it. However, he did say the 267 laps race was long, and he was trying to understand the strategy and the differences between the cars. Hamilton confessed that it made him want to drive one and wanted to race in NASCAR one day.
The Briton stated he prefers a street circuit or road course to an oval. Hence, there is a high possibility that Lewis Hamilton might give NASCAR a shot in the future. If the odds are in his favor, he could win a Cup race like Shane van Gisbergen on his NASCAR debut.
