A few weeks ago, Joey Logano recently set tongues wagging with his remarks on the accessibility of drivers and the perceived ‘spoiling’ of fans. However, Logano’s attempt to smooth over the ripples encountered a formidable opponent in the form of Freddie Kraft, who is Bubba Wallace‘s spotter and a co-host of the DBS podcast.
Logano made an attempt to rectify his rant, expressing his sentiments on the situation. He said, “We had the classic, pot-stirring click-bait thing that was taken out of context.” Logano accused Brett Griffin, the Door Bumper Clear podcast host, of playing the media game, emphasizing the challenge of navigating a landscape where headlines often overshadow the intended message.

As Logano grapples with the fallout, he acknowledged the uncomfortable reality of media dynamics saying, “It’s a bad feeling to hear all that, that someone can make up things to get attention.” Yet, Kraft appears unswayed by Logano’s attempt to backtrack, asserting that Logano may not fully comprehend the average fan’s limited access to drivers.
Nothing was taken out of context. He got called out for a poor choice of words. He regrets what he said and is attempting to walk it back, which is completely understandable.

I still don’t think he understands that the average fan has little to no access to the drivers. https://t.co/bxoxG0eo6h
Sharing Logano’s response on X, Matt Weaver shared a tweet to which Freddie Kraft reposted the writing;

Freddie Kraft compares veteran and current drivers such as Joey Logano’s off-track visibility
Kraft unleashed a scathing critique on Logano’s comments on his podcast saying, “Don’t tell me our fans are spoiled because they are not.” Kraft painted a vivid picture of fan expectations, citing the accustomed ability to meet legends like Bill Elliott at McDonald’s in the University area by UNCC after qualifying from six to eight. The seasoned spotter cast a discerning eye on Logano’s engagement, challenging, “Joey Logano probably doesn’t do that.”

Continuing his pointed commentary, Kraft delved into the perceived decline in accessibility, questioning Logano’s autograph sessions at Planet Fitness. He probed;
How many times does he go to Planet Fitness here to sign autographs? How much money is he making to do that?
Are NASCAR fans spoiled? ?

Kraft emphasized that the issue extended beyond Logano, passionately declaring, “And this isn’t just about Joey Logano. This is about any of our drivers who don’t appreciate our fans.” He spoke about the significant financial commitment fans make, ranging from $2,000 to $5,000 per weekend, to partake in the racing experience with their families.
