Consistency has been carrying the playoff rookie so far this season. But Chase Briscoe desperately needs a win to progress to the Phoenix finale. The No:14 Mustang driver, in his latest media interaction, opened up about his championship chances and why he couldn’t afford a bad weekend, unlike his counterparts.

Chase Briscoe pointed out that he can’t have a bad weekend anymore in the playoffs. Briscoe was lucky to come out of the Vegas race with points after a horrible start. He added that he isn’t putting all his championship 4 hopes on the Martinsville race though he has been good out there in the past.

You still can’t have a bad weekend. I mean, you look at Las Vegas and we were awful to start the race, then come back to fight for the win and finish fourth…Every point matters…It helps to know we ran well at Martinsville; you don’t want to put all your hope on that track where you ran well six or seven months ago. We’ve really got to go race by race,Chase Briscoe said.

Chase Briscoe said that Homestead is a track where he has a positive experience. He still needs to perform better on the track. Briscoe pointed out that the lack of grip was a surprising factor in Las Vegas. He is concerned as the Homestead track offers less grip compared to the Vegas track.

Homestead is a place I definitely know how to get around, but I feel like we’re going to have to be better. I don’t think we expected the tires to get so worn out at Las Vegas and to be slipping and sliding around as much as we were. It gets a little concerning because Las Vegas has way more grip than Homestead does, so we’ll have to work on some things,” says Chase Briscoe.

Chase Briscoe had a Cinderella ride in the playoff so far. Unlike the last two playoff rounds, certainly, the SHR pilot won’t be securing a Championship 4 entry without a win. Martinsville has been a solid track for Briscoe in the past.
