Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson and Chase Eliott had some drama last Sunday at the Kansas playoff race. The duo had a clash on the pit road during the final pit cycle of the race over a misunderstanding. Now Elliott has confirmed that they have settled all remaining misunderstandings and have a really good relationship.
Elliott was exiting the pit road with Tyler Reddick on his outside, and Larson joined them soon after. Larson pitied behind RFK Racing’s Brad Keselowski to avoid making contact without sacrificing his potion. His effort to squeeze in ended up making a slight contact with Elliott. The No:9 Chevy driver didn’t like it and was frustrated by bumping into the No:5 Chevy’s door.
While discussing the issue ahead of the Bristol race, he pointed out that he had a misunderstanding and was frustrated. He pointed out that both of them are adults and have already talked about it to each other. Elliott insisted that there is nothing more to expand on the issue.
“There’s a lot that goes on. We obviously ran into each other on pit road, and I didn’t have the full picture of what went on, so I was frustrated. That stuff happens, for sure. But at the end of the day, I’ll certainly take the blame for my frustration on that front,” Elliott said on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (H&T: RACER).
“The good news is, he and I can have a conversation like adults and it’s a non-issue. The bad news is, it’s a non-issue for all of y’all and everybody that wants to talk about it. There’s nothing to talk about,” Chase Elliott added.

Chase Elliott says the issue was settled on the race day itself
Elliott went on to say that his relationship with Larson has been good, and they settled the matter once they had a conversation over the incident soon after the race. He said that they had a discussion like adults, and there wasn’t anything to discuss about it.
“Our relationship’s actually been good, we have a lot of dialogue. We talked about it there after the race and that was it. There’s nothing more to really even discuss. When you talk about things, and you get the full picture of what’s going on, and you have a discussion like adults, there’s really no need for anything else,” Elliott said.
Elliott added that he doesn’t care about the incident and is focused on the next race. He said, “And neither he or I care about what is said during the week. At the end of the day, I think we’re both pretty performance-driven and motivated, and that’s where our focus is and will continue to be.”
