Daytona 500 is the most prestigious race win a driver could hope for in NASCAR, and it sits on the pedestal of 24 Hours of LeMans, Indy 500, and other such events. The 500 wins are considered legacy-defining in the NASCAR community.

NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Parker Kligerman has cemented that notion in his recent Twitter interaction with a fan. The fans tweeted that a Daytona 500 win is not as significant as it used to be and said it is more about the driver’s luck than skill.

The Daytona500 no longer defines a legacy. It’s a great addition, icing on the cake, but you are no longer an upper-echelon driver for winning 1 single race in a package that requires more luck than skill,” the fan’s Tweet read.

Kligerman wasn’t pleased with the opinion, and replied, “I always find the comments about super speedway racing not requiring skill funny because it’s always by people who haven’t won one,”. Kligerman fellow truck series driver Ryan Vargas commented “W” to his tweet, extending his support.

The Daytona Xfinity, Series season opener, will mark the return to full-time racing for Kligerman. He will drive the No:48 Car in 2023. His signing was announced in October last year. He started with the team in 2022 while driving in the Truck series for Henderson Motorsports.

Klingerman will also drive the No. 75 Henderson Motorsports at Daytona kicking off the Truck season. He won the Mid-Ohio event with the team last season. Daytona isn’t the only race in his Truck schedule, as he is set to compete in the Truck series in the majority of No:75 teams races. The 2023 season might be the tight NASCAR season of the driver’s career.

He is expected to score a couple of wins in the Truck races this year. Team owner Charlie Henderson said, “We are looking forward to another season with Parker –he is such a talented driver — we are expecting more wins in 2023–there’s nothing like winning,” said team owner Charlie Henderson,”.
