29 years old Christopher Bell marked a milestone at COTA two weeks ago. He made his 150th Cup Series race start and NASCAR congratulated him by sharing a special graphics on their official X handle. But Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. saw it as an unwanted social media post and not significant milestone.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. asserted that it’s not a significant static considering Richard Petty, holds the record for with 1186 starts. That means the seven-time champion still has 1000 more starts to his name and he believes that NASCAR should be celebrating drivers when they at least have over 400 starts. He did admit that he felt like a grumpy old man for complaining like it.

NASCAR put a tweet out congratulating Christopher Bell on his 150th start, but I wonder what other drivers made 150 starts and didn't get a NASCAR tweet…So they're kind of buttering you up a little bit…You know what I did immediately, since I'm a pissed off grumpy old man. That's right.  I went to the all-time starts. So, Richard Petty has 1,186, something like that…Yeah. He has a thousand more starts. It's not tweet worthy…That is not social media content.

Junior do have a point as the Richard Petty has set huge goal for many drivers in the grid and someone breaking this record seems impossible. The current generation of drivers faces more competition for seats than ever and racing as long as the legends of the sport isn’t a viable option for many in the garage.
