NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. doesn’t seem to be impressed by the Xfinity Series race at the Circuits of the Americas. It seems the two times Xfinity Series champion was frustrated with the track limits drama at the track. 20 separate drivers’ bookings were done by the NASCAR officials during the race for track limit violations.
He took it to social media and shared his thoughts on how avoid this incident. Dale Earnhardt Jr. pointed out that NASCAR should skip the COTA second tier championship race in 2025 and instead explore North Wilkesboro. The iconic track was brought back to NASCAR under the leadership of Junior last season.
In ‘25 Xfinity should run spring Bristol and then straight to Wilkesboro instead of Austin.Dale Jr. wrote on X.
The race did have some entertaining movements, such as Cup Series champion Kyle Larson winning the race after starting it on the rear. Shane van Gisbergen spinning out Austin Hill on the final laps and finishing P2, only to see him get dropped to P28 over a 30 seconds penalty for track limit violations. Junior reposting multiple X posts calling out NASCAR for the issue shows his Wilkesboro proposal is influenced by it.

Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s drivers had a mixed day in the office at COTA
Junior’s Xfinity Series team JR Motorsports had a mixed day behind the wheels at COTA. Sam Mayor, who drove the No: 1 Chevy driver finished the race inside the top-10 at P9. The second-best finish of the day came from veteran Justin Allgaier, who secured a P13.
Brandon Jones, the newest driver in the team, was able to score just a P16 with the No:9 Chevy team. The worst performing driver of the day for JRM was Sammy Smith. He DNFed and was able to score just a P36 finish in the race.
But the season so far has been concerning for JRM. It was only the first ever top-10 finish of the season for Mayor. While all of the remaining drivers were able to scire top-10s, none have scored a top-5 in 2024. They are the same team that secured eight race wins last season. Dale Jr. has pushed his team to better performing level soon.
