Harvick’s journey in NASCAR began in 1999, venturing into the Xfinity Series, and he eventually ascended to the prestigious Cup Series in 2001. With over 1,100 races, 60 Cup Series victories, 442 top-10 finishes, and 31 pole positions, Harvick’s statistics speak volumes about his excellence.

He sat down for the 12-question interview with the Athletic to share a piece of his mind. “Success is not just measured by trophies, but by the lives you touch,” Harvick reflected. Indeed, his impact transcends the racetrack. He expressed how meaningful it was to hear stories of fans finding inspiration in his journey, especially during challenging times like COVID.

He continued, “Hearing those stories and those moments, whether it be inspiring a driver or inspiring somebody to get through a hard time period, through COVID or something personal they have going on… “You lose sight of the fact that what you do is much bigger than winning or losing to the people outside of this hauler.”
