Denny Hamlin proclaimed after Tyler Reddick’s impressive Circuit of Americas Cup race win in the No:45 Toyota Camry that it is just the start of many victory lane visits. The No:11 JGR driver claimed that Reddick’s exploits wouldn’t be constrained to road courses, which he is a master of, as he will be winning races in speedways and dirt tracks as well.
Hamlin and Michael Jordan mid-way signed Tyler Reddick for the 2022 season as they were well aware of the fact that it would be hard to sign him once he becomes a free agent in 2024. He was initially scheduled to join the No:45 team in 2024, but the move was preponed to 2023 after Kurt Busch was sidelined from racing due to a concussion.
Reddick dominated the whole race, leading 41 laps, and survived three overtime sprints to secure his maiden with Toyota and 23Xi. It also was the entity’s first win of 2023. Hamlin, in his post-race press conference, pointed out that he is impressed by the driver’s performance so far and is happy that his investment in the driver paid off.
“Yeah, I mean, it’s why I went after him as early as I did. I wanted to get the jump on all the other teams because I knew he was going to be the most coveted free agent in a very, very long time. That’s why I got the jump on it. It cost me a lot of money to do it, but it pays dividends,” Hamlin said.
“You have to have that driver that you feel like can carry you to championships and wins for decades. I think we have that guy. It’s not going to stop at road courses. Dirt racing, short tracks, speedways, he’s got what it takes on every racetrack we go to,” Hamlin added.

“It means the world to me,” Tyler Reddick on his win
The two times Xfinity series champion pointed out that the win means a lot to him as he made all the efforts by 23XI in the winter to make their road course cars worthy of wins. He added that he is proud of the team’s efforts and said he had to put extra effort toward the end f the race to claim the win.
“It means the world. This whole 23XI team has been working so hard all winter long to make the road course program better. Was extremely motivated to come in here and prove that performance, too. Just so proud of this Monster Energy Toyota Camry TRD. Toyota, everybody, and all the resources they’ve been putting into this to help turn around the road course program means a lot,” Reddick said.
“I’m out of gas. But I feel a little bit better with Monster Energy. I really had to dial it up there at the end to get an advantage. I was making mistakes on every single restart. I was able to make it a little better there in the end,” Reddick added.
