Denny Hamlin is set to “pick up some more playoff points” in Pocono as he has “a lot of confidence” going into the track

The NASCAR cup series will hit the Pocono Raceway this coming Sunday for the 21st round of cup racing as the track will host the M&M’s Fan Appreciation 400 in Long Pond. Also, known as the ‘tricky triangle‘ with three 3 banks will be intense as there are just two spots left in the playoff for winless drivers, and the possibility of more than two drivers getting a win towards the end of the season is high the single in drivers will also be going for the win at the track.
Denny Hamlin, the No:11 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing, has already secured his spot in the playoff with the two wins he secured this season, the first one coming in Richmond and the second one coming in Charlotte. The three times Daytona 500 inner has been having a roller coaster of the season so far as though he has secured 2 wins, 75% of his finishes came outside the top 10 in the 20 races that so far has finished.
Going into the Pocono Raceway this weekend, where he has 6 wins in his bag, Hamlin will have a lot of thoughts going through his mind as his owned 23X1 Racing driver Bubba Wallace and his teammate Martin Truex Jr. is struggling with their winless runs as their playoff spots are in danger while Hamlin also has the challenges to overcome regarding his inconsistent runs.

Denny Hamlin acknowledged that the Pocono track fits his driving style as he was able to start his first outing on the track with a win back in 2006, which was his first ever cup win, he secured his second win of the cup the same year in cup’s return to the track. He pointed out that it’s a great, very challenging track where it is tough to get the car balanced for all three turns.
“I think the track just fits my driving style and it’s a place I picked up on right from the first time there in my rookie season. It’s a great racetrack, very challenging and it’s tough to get your car balanced for all three turns,” Denny Hamlin said.
Denny Hamlin went on to say that he has been very fortunate to work with some of the greatest crew chiefs and crew though out his career which gives him confidence going into Pocono every time. He pointed out that the entire Joe Gibbs Racing and Toyota racing team is working harder than ever to get the best racing product in Pocono.
“Obviously, I have been very fortunate to work with some great teams and crew chiefs throughout my career as well. That gives me a lot of confidence every time I go to Pocono. This week especially, it’s unlike anywhere we have been so far this season, but I feel like our team and everyone at Joe Gibbs Racing and Toyota have been working very hard and making gains throughout the year,” Denny Hamlin added.
Denny Hamlin added that he is looking forward to racing in the track and converting the advantage he has there to more playoff points by saying “I’m looking forward to getting on track Saturday and seeing where we stack up because I feel like it’s a place that we can take advantage of and hopefully pick up some more playoff points,”.
