Joe Gibbs Racing’s NASCAR Cup Series driver Denny Hamlin has come forth to give his take on the Hollywood movie based on the iconic fashion doll Barbie. It is the first live-action movie on the world-renowned Mattel dolls collections. The movie was made on a $145 million budget and didn’t fit the taste of the 23XI Racing co-owner.

It was no surprise Hamlin had to go and watch the movie since he and his girlfriend, Jordan Fish have two daughters. Known for his outspoken character, the No:11 TRD driver didn’t hold back his criticism and quickly labeled the film the worst.

The movie starring Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken has produced a mixed set of reactions from fans online. It depicts the story of a matriarchal Barbie society in Barbeiland. The movie grossed over $300 million in its first week of release, but it is facing strong competition on the market from Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.

The simultaneous release of two movies has prompted the interesting social phenomenon “Barbenheimer.” The audiences are driven to see both films as a double feature. This has also produced a meme fest on Twitter as well.

Nolan’s Oppenheimer is represented as a movie filled with drama and seriousness, while Barbie is depicted as a funky drama. So, individuals share photos of them in funky outfits and serious ones. Such memes are going viral, and NASCAR didn’t hesitate to join it using Tyler Reddick’s images.

Reddick joined the team co-owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan in 2023 and has been the best driver for them this year over his teammate Bubba Wallace. NASCAR, via their official account, shared two images where in one, Reddick seems serious where, and the other one is of him celebrating a win with a blonde wig on his head.

Hamlin and his team will have to switch to Oppenheimer mode on Sunday, as the Cup playoff is just six races away. Both Hamlin and Reddick have secured the spots in the last 16 with a win, But Bubba Wallace hasn’t. They have to help him get to his maiden playoffs by wins or points while working on securing playoff advantage for them as well.
