Denny Hamlin wants NASCAR drivers to take instant revenge on Ross Chastain for hyper aggression
Ross Chastain- Denny Hamlin saga is one of the newest and most heated rivalries in the Cup garage.
Ross Chastain and Denny Hamlin
Trackhouse Racing No:1 Chevy Camaro ZL1 driver Ross Chastain is now becoming a mini-Dale Earnhardt. The watermelon man is not close to any of the records held by Dale Sr. Still, he has successfully, compared to his peers, incorporated one aspect of the legendary driver into his arsenal. The seven times Cup champion was known for his aggressive approach during the races.
Dale Sr. called his move “rattling the cages” of his opponent and intimidating them to commit mistakes. Chastain has incorporated this aggression into his driving. He more than once has taken it to the next level, earning him many enemies in the garage. Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Denny Hamlin is one of his major rivals. They have been part of many tussles in 2022, which continued until 2023.
In the latest episode of his podcast, Hamlin expressed his concerns over drivers not giving it back to Chastain on track. He pointed out that though Chastain is aggressive on the track, he isn’t one of the drivers who has the delusion that he won’t get anything back for the aggression. Hamlin said that he is confused why no one is getting back at him.
“One thing I’ll say about Ross is he doesn’t mind you getting back at him. So why people in the field don’t just do it, I don’t understand. After Pocono, he crashed into the wall there, he says, ‘Well, I deserved that and probably a little more.’ And then, after Phoenix, he comes up and says, ‘Well, I probably deserve that.’ He’s not oblivious to knowing that he’s owed one,” Denny Hamlin said.
He later added that the Cup drivers or NASCAR should step up to stop Chastain. He said, “Competitors have to just say, ‘F*** it, when I get my chance, I’m gonna get back at him, and then I’m just gonna say I made a mistake.’ That’s one way, right? Or NASCAR has to step in and say, like with (Carson) Hocevar, ‘Alright, we’ve had enough of it. You do this every week.’”

Denny Hamlin knows why Ross Chastain continuing his aggression
The 23XI Racing co-owner pointed out that the reason why the two times cup race winner is continuing his aggression is that he is never on the wrong side of such aggression. Every time he was at the beneficiary end of such collisions. His opponent had never taken him out for aggression.
“The juice is worth the squeeze, probably from his perspective because he’s never really got caught up in any of these incidents. It’s always been someone else’s day that’s gotten ruined, and no one has really done anything back,” Denny Hamlin said.
