Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Denny Hamlin didn’t have the best luck at the start of the 2024 season. He started the year on a high note by winning the unofficial season opener at Los Angeles. But once the season got officially started things started going south. He finished outside the top 15 in both the Daytona 500 and the Atlanta races despite being one of the best Superspeedway racers on the grid.

But lady luck seems to have returned to Hamlin, as he has won a massive $300K blackjack tournament at a Vegas casino. Hamilton took it Instagram to share the story of his impressive victory. He shared images of himself with a trophy that was made of glass and themed around playing cards.

The 23XI Racing co-owner also shared a video where he is seen fist-bumping the air and celebrating in his style. His entourage also joined the party sporting “AllIN” cap, with ‘ll’ replaced by “11”, it mentions Hamlin’s No:11 JGR Toyota Camry. It was a crazy start to the race week the TRD driver could ask for.

But the luck didn’t follow Hamlin to the track as he underperformed in the qualifying. He was over 0.2 seconds off from the best-placed Toyota driven by his driver Bubba Wallace and was over 0.4 seconds off from Joey Logano, who scored an impressive pole. Hamlin will start at P28 on Sunday.

Denny Hamlin can now afford to drive the hell out of his car

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver, who is also a co-team owner is in the position to give the perfect answer on how much it costs to field a Cup car. He revealed that it will cost around $350K for a team to field competitive Next-Gen race cars for its drivers.

The next-gen car is probably all in with the parts pieces and all the other stuff you have to purchase to actually make it roll and a driver sit in it. We’re probably around $350,000. We’re racing Lambos out there.
Hamlin said via the Action Detrimental podcast.

With the $300 he has earned at Vegas Hamlin can either buy a new Lamborghini or he could drive the hell out of his No:11 Camry from P28 on Sunday without caring about a potential crash. But at the end of the day, Hamlin would be hoping to have a solid Sunday and potentially score a win.
