The NASCAR fans who came into the 2024 Daytona 500 to see DJ Khaled rock the stage alongside Pitbull were disappointed as NASCAR postponed the event. The Cup season opener, as well as the Xfinity Series season opener, was rescheduled to Monday due to poor weather conditions. Khaled has confirmed that he will not perform on Monday.

He sat down with the media following the announcement that the race wouldn’t take place and had a conversation about many subjects, including a potential entry into the sport as a team owner. He said he would love to be a team owner and have “We The Best” branded car racing on the NASCAR tracks.  We the Best is the producer’s second album and has sold over 440K copies since 2007.

While both Khaled and Pitbull pulled out, the most high-profile celebrity, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, hasn’t. He has decided to stay in Florida till Monday to give the start your engine command for the second time in his life and the first time ever at the Daytona 500. On the other hand, Pitbull has promised that he will perform next year instead.

DJ Khaled should follow Pitbull if he wants to enter NASCAR

Pitbull is not just a performer in the NASCAR circle; he is a dedicated team owner as well. He co-owns Chevy Cup Series team Trackhouse Racing. They are not just a NASCAR team as they also have a MotoGP operation as well.

Pitbull entered the sport with Justin Marks, a former NASCAR driver and businessman. Within three years, they have established themselves as a two-car team, with a third part-time entry car, capable of challenging for the title.

The team’s Project-91 initiative development deal with three-time Super Cars champion Shane van Gisbergen. Their diverse crew is a highlight as well. This, alongside their two-star drivers in Daniel Suarez and Ross Chastain, makes them forces to be reckoned with. If Khaled can follow a similar path, success is feasible.
