Erik Jones is a professional American stock car driver, competing for full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series. Jones drives the No.43 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Legacy Motor Club, formerly, Petty GMS Racing. Born in Michigan, Jones started competing in Speedcar races at the age of 7. He moved to stock cars aged 13.
He has won the Rookie of the Year award in all 3 national championships and is the first driver to do so. He made his Truck Series debut in Martinsville in 2013. Jones won his first race at the Phoenix International Speedway and became the youngest to win a national series race at 17. He made his Xfinity Series debut in 2014 and finished all 3 of his entries in the top 10.
In 2016, Jones started racing in the Xfinity Series full-time with instant success. Impressive performances led to a call-up to the Cup Series. Jones began racing for Furniture Row Racing full-time in the 2017 Cup Series season. His first Cup Series triumph came at the Coke Zero 400 at the Daytona International Speedway.
