Noah Gragson entered the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season with the dream of making it into the big league. He had the best mentors a rookie could probably ask for his team’s co-owners, Richard Petty and Jimmie Johnson. The Chevy driver was ready to redeem after losing the 2022 Xfinity series title to bitter rival Ty Gibbs.
But instead of redemption, nightmares awaited him in the premier stock car racing championship. The No:42 team consistently failed to give him cars fast enough for him to produce solid runs, and his teammate Erik Jones over achieving didn’t help the team as well. Now he has found himself indefinitely suspended for a social media mess up.
Noah Gragson liked an Instagram post with a meme depicting George Floyd‘s death. Floyd, an African American, was killed by the police, and it sprouted one of the major global protests against police brutality and racial justice. The youngster was first suspended by his team Legacy Motor Club and then by NASCAR.
Nearly 12 hours after Legacy MC announced the suspension of Gragson, tech billionaire Elon Musk sent an X (Tweeted) that he will support any legal battle by individuals “unfairly treated by your employer due to posting or liking something on this platform (X.com previously Twitter) we will fund your legal bill.” He added that there is no limit in the bill. NASCAR fans have come connecting the announcement to Gragson.

Noah Gragson fans seek Elon Musk’s help

NASCAR fans and other individuals on Twitter were quick to connect the dots and ask for the help of the Tesla owner. They flooded the tweet’s comments session with tweets seeking help for Larson, and some even came out claiming that he took the initiative due to the Gragson incident.
While it’s still uncertain what will be the next move for Gragson, Josh Berry replaced him for the Michigan event, and to get re-instated, the minimum he has to do is undergo sensitivity training. The controversy might negatively affect his future as well.
