Recently, NASCAR unveiled its trophy for the inaugural Cup Series on the streets of Chicago. The minimum requirement is a new trophy for the race in the new city. Lucas spoke about designing the trophy. He stated, “My artwork has always had a little bit of motorhead culture. It’s about how things connect and operate together, so this is an opportunity to play with things I’m very familiar with as a subject matter for my art.” It is tall and has the city of Chicago on it, with the logo, name, and the date of the race. However, the NASCAR fans are not impressed with the trophy.

The Chicago Street Race trophy was revealed on Wednesday and received criticism from the fans. One user commented, “With autoplay, and a quick glance, I straight up thought this was a leg tattoo.” They called the trophy ugly and said it looked like a leg tattoo. Another user expressed his love for the city but disliked the NASCAR trophy. One fan said, “I’d aim for second and stage wins so I can get playoff points but not get stuck with that.”

There were a few fans who wondered what the trophy was made of. Overall, they felt it could have been better. Some users claim that it is similar to a Formula 1 trophy. “Did somebody already run over it,” and “Talk about unimaginative” were two of the comments. Take a look at the others below.

NASCAR fans could not help themselves but share their opinions on the trophy. There were mixed reactions, as some fans found it fascinating. However, whether it looks good or bad, the NASCAR drivers will aim to obtain it come Sunday. Last weekend, it was Ross Chastain who took the win home. It remains to be seen who will make history at the inaugural street race in Chicago.
