Bubba Wallace and Rajah Caruth are the only two racers from the African American community racing full-time in NASCAR. The former races for Michael Jordan’s 23XI Racing in the premier division, Cup Series, while the latter is racing Hendrick Motorsports Chevy in the Truck Serie for Spire Motorsports.

Both secured solid top-5 finishes at Daytona on their respective championships after surviving the big crash at the end. But unlike Caruth caused Wallace, the big wreck in the Truck event. After the race, the 23XI driver confronted Caruth about the incident, as his getting lost and making contact was the reason for the wreck.

Wallace, in his appearance in the Door Bumper Clear podcast after the Daytona 500, discussed the incident and detailed how he made Caruth admit his mistakes. The TRD driver confronted Caruth after their initial meeting on the track after studying the last laps of the race and urged him to apologize for his mistake as he had messed up.

I'm trying to put myself in his shoes. Oh, the top line's moving around me. Top line's moving around me. There's half a hole. Bam. Done…So, he's like, I got pushed into that. So, I'm like, all right, good job. So I go back to the bus. I studied film like it was my own. I I'm, like, pausing the tv, pulling up my phone, and I'm like, bro, you didn't get pushed. What are you talking about?...he finally came around and said I messed up. And I said, thank you. Now pick up the phone and tell everybody else that because that's what he's got to do.

At the same time, some fans also used this opportunity to troll Wallace, as he has also made similar mistakes before. There were also the usual ill-faith comments aimed at the TRD driver, as he is one of the most hated drivers in the garage.
