Two times NASCAR Cup series champion Kyle Busch has been named to the list of 75 greatest drivers in the sport’s history. The Richard Childress Racing driver was named to the list alongside his brother and former Cup champion Kurt Busch. Busch is statistically the most accomplished driver ever and is miles ahead of his rivals in the national series victory sheet.
Kyle Busch has won 62 Cup series races in his career, which makes him the active driver with the most wins. He is also the active and all-time winner in the truck and Xfinity series. He has 102 wins in the second division and 63 in the third division. He has a combined 227 race wins in NASCAR national championship. Seven times cup champion Richard Petty, who has 200 Cup race wins, is the only driver to get to that mark.
Kyle and Kurt Busch established themselves as formidable forces in the late model series before securing Cup seats. The 2009 Xfinity series champion made his NASCAR debut in 2003 in the Xfinity series with a P2. He marked his full times Xfinity and Cup debut next season with Hendrick Motorsports. He earned a promotion to the premier division with HMS in 2005.
He was signed by Joe Gibbs Racing in 2008 after they joined the Toyota garage. His legacy started writing his NASCAR legacy driving the No:18 car. He won two championships, in 2015 and 2019, with them and produced some of the most impressive performances in the sport’s history. He also dominated in the limited races. He was allowed to partake in the lower divisions with JGR and his team, Kyle Busch Motorsports.
In 2022 he ended his 15 years long partnership with Joe Gibbs Racing and returned to the Chevy garage. He took over the iconic No:8 car. He has already established himself as a championship contender, with the new team winning two Cup races from 11 starts. He also invests his time in developing his son’s junior racing career.
