Ross Chastain has once again proved that his 2022 Championship p2 was no fluke as he secured his first wins of 2023, holding off Martin Truex Jr at Nashville. It was the first win of the No:1 Trackhouse driver and his team in 2023. He started the race at the pole, marking the first-ever pole in the Justin Marks-owned teams’ history.

Chastain has silenced his critic yet again by winning in his home track and securing his first-ever oval win. His aggressive driving style was under scrutiny this season after a crash with Kyle Larson in Darlington, leading team owner Marks to confront him. After the talk with his boss Ross Chastain became more conservative. With the Nashville win, he has proved he has the skill set to win the race while being less aggressive.

I got to tell you a lot of self-reflection through all this, but I had a group that believed in me, and they didn’t let me get down. And they bring rocket ships, and I just try to point them to victory lane,” Chastain said after the win.

All 400 was one of the most impressive races of the 2023 season, as the fight for P1 was intense in the final laps. Ross Chastain was on edge in the last 30 laps, with Martin Truex Jr hunting him down. In the final restart, the three-way battle between the duo and William Byron was also impressive. While the Chevy and Toyota teams had a solid day, Ford garage left the race frustrated as none of their cars finished inside the Top 10.
