“Far from the truth as you can get,” NASCAR shuts down Kevin Harvick’s “crappy parts claim” after Darlington fire

Kevin Harvick
Kevin Harvick found himself in the unlucky spectrum on last Sunday at Darlington as his race day came to an end after his No:4 Stewart Hass Racing Ford Mustang caught on fire mid-race. Though this isn’t the first time the Next-Gen ford is catching on fire at the track the timing of the incident couldn’t have been that worst.
Following the DNF Kevin Harvick found himself among the four drivers who are below the cut-off progressing to the Next-Round and the veteran had some frustrated words to say to NASCAR regarding the Next-Gen car as he said “ I’m sure it’s just the crappy parts on the race car like we’ve seen so many times. We haven’t fixed anything. It’s kind of like the safety stuff,”.
Many fans had to say similar opinions as the veteran who didn’t stand weekly with NASCAR as though they support the claims that Next-Gen cards need to be more secure they don’t have a similar opinion as the SHR veteran on the parts. NASCAR senior vice president of competition Scott Miller has come forth expressing his distaste and NASCAR’s official opinion on the veteran words.

Scott Miller pointed out that the veteran’s opinions are purely emotional and the fire has nothing to do with the truth regarding the safety of the car. He added that NASCAR doesn’t have anything more to say to Harvick as they don’t want any further back and forth of words and pointed out that NASCAR does care about their drivers.
“I know that was an emotional time and his race was ruined, but to say that NASCAR didn’t care is about as far from the truth as you can get. That’s really all I have to say about that. I’m not going to get in any kind of back-and-forth contest with Kevin over the airwaves, but I think he actually does know we do care,” Scott Miller said.
NASCAR also expressed its thoughts on the accusation of a lack of communication between the garage and the organization. He points out that the communication and collaboration among the teams, partners, and media organizations are at a time high right now.
“I think we’re better than we’ve ever been at understanding the struggles of the team and the different things that together we have to work through as an industry. I think that communication between us, the teams, the OEMs, you as media partners, the TV networks as media partners… I think the collaboration of the entire industry is at an all-time high, and that’s one of the reasons why we’ve had a resurgence of popularity of the sport, quite honestly,” Scott Miller added.
The senior NASCAR official went on to say that the organization is all ready to counter the occasional problems that come up in NASCAR, saying, “We’re going to run into problems along the way. This is the problem that has come to the forefront. There’s always going to be problems, and we’re always going to solve them as an industry with collaboration,”.
