Veteran IMSA driver Katherine Legge is set to drive SS-Green Light Racing No:7 Chevy Camaro in four selected races in NASCAR’s second tier. Her first race will be at the Road America on the coming Saturday. She is scheduled to race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on 12 August, Watkins Glen International on 19 August, and the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval on 7 October.

It’s the first time in five years Legge is driving in NASCAR. In 2018 she made her debut in the Xfinity series and went on to race in three more races that season. She scored a P38 at Mid-Ohio in No:15 JD Motorsports Chevy on her debut. Legge scored her best-ever NASCAR finish (P14) two weeks after Road America. She scored a P28 in Richmond and P33 in ROVAL.

The No:7 team has struggled to perform in the 2023 season despite giving nine drivers a shot in the car. They sit 38 in the owners’ point table, and the worse standing can be described by one stat; the team hasn’t scored a single top-20 finish this season. The best finish of their 2023 season so far is the P22 they secured twice. They also failed to qualify twice this season.

Blaine Perkins was the first designated driver for the team, but he was replaced after the first five races. Stefan Parsons is the driver who has run the most for the team this season. Carson Hocevar, Mason Maggio, Spencer Pumpelly, David Starr, and Trackhouse Racing Cup driver Daniel Suárez were the other drivers to race with the team.

The Indianapolis 500 start she made this season with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. She spun out during the race, but it helped her to realize that her career won’t last too long. She wants to follow her passion and continue to break new ground in Motorsports.

The Indy 500 made me realise that life and racing careers are too short not to go for it. My interest and passion are to continue to break new ground in motorsports. I’ve been proactive over the last year in thinking about what I want to do in my career and how I can accomplish those things,” Legge said.

Katherine Legge drives in  MSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, competing full-time for the No. 66 Gradient Racing Acura NSX GT3 Evo22. The 43-year-old is currently P6 in the championship standing. She has a long history with the teams, as the veteran was the first winner with them in 2017.
