Hailie Deegan made her Craftsman Truck Series debut in 2021. She has been around NASCAR since 2016 and has successfully climbed the ladder. The full-time No.13 Ford F-150 driver for ThorSport Racing in the Truck Series would like to move to Xfinity. However, there is something that stands in her way. NASCAR is a sport dependent on sponsors, and financials are the biggest barrier she is finding hard to tackle.
In the latest episode of Rubbin Is Racing YouTube channel titled “Hailie Deegan Breaks Down SRX Drama,” the 22-year-old talks about the financial side of NASCAR. Hailie Deegan revealed she would love to race in Xfinity full-time as early as next year. Although, there is the financial aspect. Deegan claimed it would cost 4-5 million dollars to compete in Xfinity Series. This is double the amount spent in the Truck Series.
Hailie Deegan opened up about moving to the Xfinity Series. She stated, “I would hope soon. It’s all just the financial side. I would love to go to Xfinity and would love to run full-time next year, but it’s just the financial side. And you go from these Truck Racing budgets of having to raise enough money for that sponsorship for that, and then you go to Xfinity, which is about double or if not more.”

Hailie Deegan hopes to raise sponsorship money to get into Xfinity

Deegan claimed that it costs money at the end of the day, and it would be beneficial to raise sponsorship money. That’s what she has been trying to do. Though Deegan comes from a “successful family,” she revealed that it was not “NASCAR successful.” Deegan’s father helped her when she started racing in her lower teens. She then got sponsors and had help from her family.
Deegan added, “I’ll be honest if you want to run for a good Truck team, it’s about 2 million dollars a year. To run for an A-level Truck team. And to run for A-level Xfinity, you are looking at 4-5 million dollars. That’s just the cold heart truth of it.” The ThorSport driver also explained what happened with Joey Logano. “I’ve heard Joey Logano talk about it, he is a championship-winning Cup driver, and he had to go pay.”
Hailie Deegan had already run one Xfinity race last season, the 2022 Alsco Uniforms 302 in Las Vegas, where she finished 13th. It was the best result for a woman on her Xfinity debut in the history of the series. While she is building a name for herself in the sport and marketing to bring partners aboard, there is no doubt Hailie Deegan will make it to the Xfinity Series and fulfill her dreams.
