Hailie Deegan set to join Truck series Championship winning side in 2023: Reports

Hailie Deegan is one of the most talented female racing prodigies in NASCAR right now. She has already amassed a good fanbase and has impressed the racing community with her impressive performance in 2022. The former David Gilliland Racing star is looking for a new ride in 2023. Hailie Deegan exited the DGR after they moved to the TRD garage, re-branding themselves as TRICON

The latest report from Racing Boys suggests that Deegan might sign with Thor Motorsport for the 2023 Craftsman Truck series season. The Ohio-based team has announced their return to the Ford garage for 2023, ending their two-year partnership with Toyota and is driver short.

2022 playoff contender Christian Eckes ended his term with Thor and joined McAnally-Hilgemann Racing. Deegan, who has a contract with Ford, has the best opportunity to drive for a championship side next year. She was supposed to make an Xfinity series switch this season, but there hasn’t been any solid progress for the talks.

If the deal goes through, Hailie Deegan will join Ben Rhodes, Matt Crafton, and Ty Majeski next year for TM. Crafton is a two times Truck series champion, while Ty Majeski finished 4th in the 2022 championship. Ben Rhodes was the defending Truck series champion in 2022. She has an experienced set of drivers to learn from in 2023.

How Hailie Deegan fared in the 2022 season

The 2022 season was of hinges and laws for Deegan. She appeared in 23 Truck series races this year in the No:1 DGR Ford Truck. She scored two top-10s and ten top-20 finishes this season. Her best finish of the year came in Talladega, where she finished at P6. She finished outside the top 30 five times this season, and her form and the car’s reliability were questioned.

She finished 21st in the championship, while her teammate Tanner Gray finished P16. She also made an Xfinity series start with SS-Green Light Racing at Las Vegas and scored an impressive P13. She ran two races in the Superstar Racing Experience, finishing in the top 10 on both occasions.
