Hailie Deegan is one of the current garage’s most promising NASCAR female prodigies. She is learning more about the race craft in the NASCAR truck Series while eying a seat in the premier division. Driving for ThorSports, the 2023 season has been kind to her. She is yet to have a solid run in the series so far.

In her latest Truck race, hosted by the WWT Raceway last Saturday, Deegan was wrecked by Nick Sanchez. She was spun during a three-way battle between turns two and three, and the incident was caused by Sanchez pushing her too much in his attempt to overtake her. NASCAR legend Michael Waltrip, who was calling the race for Fox, called out Sanchez, saying, “Totally avoidable. You can’t just run over someone,”.

After the race, Hailie Deegan, one the top NASCAR female racers ever, shared a video of the incident on her official Instagram page with the caption, “Had a good day going till we got junked.”. Her father and former Freestyle Motocross champion Brain Deegan had some strong words for NASCAR and Sanchez; he shared them as replies to the post.

He wrote, “Truck series is a joke,”. According to the reports from Racing News.Com, he also posted a couple more ex[licit replies, which were later deleted. They reported Brian Deegan writing, “What a bitch. Yeah, that’s right,”.

Brian Deegan said, “He knew what he was doing. And shouldn’t get away with it. I’m so over seeing these clowns take you out,”. He urged NASCAR to take action saying, “Something needs to happen. And NASCAR needs to pull their head out and use the black flag to protect the drivers and equipment,”.

Sanchez was quick to apologize for the unfortunate event, which was his own doing. While talking to Bob Pockraas after the race, he pointed out that he pushed and hit Deegan while defending himself, saying it was just hard racing.

It’s unfortunate, to tear up a truck, especially her, Just racing hard, trying to get momentum. Pushed her back bumper off turn two and three. Just trying to get clear of the two on my inside. Just racing so close, I hit her. No two ways around it. Unfortunate, sucks that it happened. My apologies,” Sanchez said.
