Hendrick Motorsports will enter four NASCAR Xfinity Series races in 2023. This is the second consecutive season. The team will enter four races, in the No. 17 Chevrolet Camaro just like they did the previous season. HendrickCars.com will be their primary sponsor once again. The team will participate in 3 road courses and one oval track.

The four races will feature three of the team’s NASCAR Cup Series drivers. The No.17 Chevrolet Camaro will be entered by William Byron on March 25th at the Circuit of The Americas, popularly known as COTA. On June 10th, Kyle Larson will take over the Chevrolet at the Sonoma Raceway. Alex Bowman will get behind the wheels of the No.17 car on August 19th at Watkins Glen International. Larson will pilot the car again on September 2nd at the Darlington Raceway.

Last year, Hendrick Motorsports had two pole positions. They also had two runner-up finishes thanks to Larson and Bowman and three top-five finishes. However, the team had no victories. It explains why the team has unfinished business in the Xfinity Series. For the 2023 season, the three drivers will be overseen by Veteran crew chiefs Greg Ives and Kevin Meendering.

Rick Hendrick, the owner of Hendrick Motorsports, stated, “Watching the No. 17 return to the track last year was very special. It was fun being back in the Xfinity Series and seeing a great return from our HendrickCars.com sponsorship. The team had strong results on the track, but we didn’t quite get to victory lane. Having unfinished business gives us extra motivation this season.”

The CEO of Hendrick Automotive Group is hell-bent on winning a race in the Xfinity Series. Jeff Andrews is the Hendrick Motorsports president and the general manager. He felt that the team learned a lot in the 2022 season. “Bringing back the program was an easy decision, but we know competing at a high level in the Xfinity Series takes a big commitment”. Andrews revealed that the team would throw everything they had at the four races. To quote him “Winning with the No. 17 HendrickCars.com Chevy is the priority.”

The team is motivated more than ever to get that win. This is the year of redemption for them. Chase Elliott, the team’s star boy, is sidelined due to a leg injury. Despite that, the team had a positive start to the Cup Series. William Byron, Kyle Larson and Alex Bowman finished first, second and third respectively at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This is an exceptional result and a huge boost for Hendrick Motorsports.
