NASCAR 2022 season has been a whole new beginning for the sport with the introduction of Next-Gen cars and the radical changes that have been introduced to the sport. The race got a new beginning for the first time in decades as the Clash which usually took place in Daytona was shifted to the temporary track which was made inside the iconic LA historic Coliseum, which witnessed Joey Logano becoming the first-ever winner in the Next-Gen car.  

The 0.25-mile track Offred an impressive race which also attracted a whole new set of fans for the NASCAR racing. NASCAR has recently announced that the 2022 edition of the clash will take place in LA which has attracted both appreciation and criticism from the NASCAR community. Now NASCAR cup series rookie Todd Gilliland, the son of former NASCAR racer and team owner David Gilliland, has come forth expressing his excitement regarding the return of the sport to LA.

Todd Gilliland acknowledged that the news is so much fun for him as it’s one of the most excited he has been in a long time. He revealed that when he came to know the clash is going back to LA as he couldn’t race this season because he failed to make it to the track. He went on to say that watching the last race with the fans has given him more appreciation for the race as he really loved the whole experience and the performance by Rapper Ice Cube.

Honestly this Is the most excited I’ve been in a long time when I saw that Clash was going back to L.A. It kind of sucked I didn’t get to race it because I didn’t make the race, but I feel like that gave me even more of an appreciation for it because I was sitting in the stands and the place was just electric, I felt like. With Ice Cube there. It was just such an experience, so I definitely loved it,” Todd Gilliland added.

The rookie season saw far has been a challenging one for Gilliland who is part of a racing royalty in California as the Gilliland’s has been around NASCAR for a long time. The two times ARCA Mendes west series champion has finished inside the top 20 six times this season while the rest of his finishes were disappointments, as he couldn’t get past the top 20 barriers in any other races. The last two races of the season have been disappointing for the youngster as he couldn’t secure a top 20 finish in his No:38 Front Raw Motorsport but he will be hoping that he might be able to get his season around using the mid-season break as a momentum builder.
