“I was proud of him” Kyle Larson on Tyler Reddick’s cup performances so far as he reminisces their past racing each other in Californian dirt tracks

Kyle Larson and Tyler Reddick are among the group of dirt and late model racing maestros who are now making their mark in the premier stock car racing championship the Cup Series. While the former has marked his spot in NASCAR history with his dominating championship run in the 2021 season the latter has announced his arrival to the stock car scene with his two Xfinity championship wins and recently his first cup win.
Tyler Reddick and Kyle Larson who both are from California have crossed their path in the past in the Cycleland circuits before going their separate ways to make it to the ultimate dream of the cup series and both appreciate each other’s racing very much. In his 92nd start in the cup series, Reddick won his first cup race beating Larson and his teammate Chase Elliott but the defending champion does not hold back the appreciation he has for him.

Kyle Larson pointed out that he and Tyler Reddick go way back as they both grew up racing against each other in Cycleland and Red Bluff. He added that though Tyler Reddick moved out of California early he used to follow Reddick’s career until they crossed paths once again in the cup series. He pointed out that the RCR driver has done a good job winning two Xfinity championships and has come close to multiple race wins in the cup until doing it in Road America two race weekends ago.
“We grew up racing together at Cycleland and a little bit in Red Bluff. He got out of California pretty early but I’ve always followed his career. Our paths kind of met back on the NASCAR circuit and he’s done a really good job winning a couple of Xfinity championships and been really close to winning a handful of cup races,” Kyle Larson said the next day at the Fourth of July race at Silver Dollar Speedway.
Kyle Larson acknowledged that he is proud of what Tyler Reddick has able to achieve in the cup, especially his win, and pointed out that there are a lot of people back in California that are proud of him saying “So it was awesome to see him get it done. It was cool, I was proud of him and I’m sure there are a lot of people from this region that are proud of him as well,” Kyle Larson added.
What is ahead of Kyle Larson in the cup series
Kyle Larson has a long way to go in his pursuit of defending his cup series championship this season as he has so far won just one race so far this season coming at the Fontana in the second race of the season. He has come close to another win twice in the following races but ended up short finishing P2 both times. If not for the unfortunate crashes and track incident Larson would surely have been a multiacre inner this season.
Going into this weekend’s Cup race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway Kyle Larson will be hoping to get back to winning ways and get back to winning ways as though he has already cemented his playoff spot a good winning momentum can do a world of good for him as he will be facing strong competition from all the drivers in the front raw as well as his teammates, especially current championship leader Chase Elliott.
